We are now back in UK, we had to shorten the trip a bit, here is not the planned route, but the one we’ve achieved.

Cusco
Here’s the main Peruvian tourist hub: Cusco! We were clearly not bothered to go there and had to force ourselves! The city is nice and there’re a lot of historical buildings to visit. However, nothing’s free! Our favourite place there was… a market! San Pedro market is awesome, you can find and eat anything you want! Dozens of food stalls, juice stalls… it’s Heaven if you like eating. We do.
Lima
We hardly stayed 2 days in Lima, as we only wanted to see the historical centre (not really interested by the touristy areas like Miraflores…). The highlight was the Magic Water Circuit in the Parque de la Reserva. Very VERY cheap and really nice! (of course if you’re keen on water/light show).
Mancora
First place in Peru after a night bus from Cuenca in Ecuador. Our first land border crossing was an interesting experience… well no…that’s a lie, we thought it would be but finally it was long, and boring… and the fact that it was at 2am made it even less enjoyable.
It was really hot in Mancora, and it was good to be by the sea and able to swim again, as we thought it would not happen again during this trip when we left Asia. Mancora is more of a party town than the quiet beach town we expected. This is not what we wanted, so we just enjoyed the sea and some very, very good food. Nicolas also went for 2 dives.
Puerto Lopez
We thought we would not swim again when we left Asia, but we were wrong! The Pacific coast of Ecuador is lovely, and being on the Equator, the climate is constant throughout the year. We chose the little fishing town of Puerto Lopez to experience this. Nice weather, beach, slow pace… We took it quite easy there during 3 days, without staying inactive though!
